CLINICAL MANAGEMENT
of Amputees
Course content:
The program for this four-day intensive course is divided into sections:

Outline of the clinical stages of amputee management model
-
Overall integrated therapeutic approach to individual amputee
-
Age and life-stage issues
-
Specific clinical management of lower limb amputees
-
Specific clinical management of upper limb amputees
-
Special considerations — nerve injuries resulting in limb loss
Course aims:
This course aims to provide

an integrated approach to the management of amputees based broadly on clinical
experience within a large rehabilitation amputee unit.

knowledge of specific rehabilitation skills

an opportunity to discuss information presented and its applicability to
individual clinics/facilities.
Course method:
Lectures, demonstrations and group participation sessions.
Participants receive a comprehensive manual and certificate of attendance.
