The Monash Rehabilitation Technology Research Unit

Part of the
MONASH UNIVERSITY CENTRE FOR BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING (MUCBE)

REHAB Tech was established as a Professional Resource Centre for the Prosthetic, Orthotic and Rehabilitation Engineering industries providing
services, support, consultations and information thanks to the generous contribution of its Financial Supporters, the University and a contribution from some of those seeking these services.

Many in the Australian and global community have subsequently benefited from the results of these services being freely available to all.

Unfortunately the conclusion of many Supporter service contracts has meant that these external services are largely subsidised by the University and private clients. The University has subsequently made the decision that it will only continue to support the teaching and research activities of MUCBE
(Monash University Centre for Biomedical Engineering).

Arrangements are currently underway to ensure other external services provided by MUCBE and REHAB Tech may continue via a mechanism outside the university so that important work such as

• technology consulting,
• incident and failure investigations,
• TechGUIDE and TGA (regulatory) advice
  
• Software support
• Material Science Maximising Patient Safety Course

can be provided independently of the University .

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of the industry that has supported, assisted and encouraged REHAB Tech's activities over the last 16 years!!
