Principal dates 2007

This section outlines important dates of which you must be aware. Consider highlighting those dates which apply to you for easy reference. The principal dates also include university holidays for the various campuses.

Principal dates vary according to campus:

30 Thurs	Semester two results released.
December 2006
20 Wed	University closes.
January 2007
02 Tues	University reopens.
08 Mon	Semester one 'Enrolment details and fee statement' published on the Web Enrolment System (WES).
15 Mon	Census date for teaching periods: summer semester B (SSB-01) and summer A - semester 1 (SS-S1-01).
22 Mon	Supplementary and special (deferred) examinations commence. Enrolment of first-year undergraduate students (VTAC) - first round begins.
25 Thurs	Supplementary and special (deferred) examinations conclude. Enrolment of first-year undergraduate students (VTAC) - first round ends.
26 Fri	Australia Day (university closed).
February
08 Thurs - 09 Fri	Enrolment of first-year undergraduate students (VTAC) - second round.
09 Fri	Semester one fees due. Students who have not received their 'Enrolment details and fee statement' should contact their faculty to check their enrolment status. Last day to add semester one or full-year off-campus learning units without risk of late enrolment penalty.
12 Mon - 14 Wed	Registration for international students
15 Thurs	Census date for teaching periods: term 1 (T1-57) and trimester 1 (T1-58).
19 Mon	Enrolment of first-year undergraduate students (VTAC) - third round (all campuses).
19 Mon- 23 Fri	Orientation at Berwick, Clayton and Parkville campuses. (First-year Parkville Bachelor of Medicinal Chemistry students will follow the Orientation program for the Faculty of Science at Clayton campus).
20 Tues - 23 Fri	Orientation at Gippsland campus.
21 Wed - 23 Fri	Orientation at Caulfield campus.
26 Mon	Semester one teaching period commences.
March
09 Fri	Last day to add semester one or full-year on-campus units without risk of late enrolment penalty.
31 Sat	Census date for teaching periods: semester one (S1-01) and semester one (extended) (S1-32). Last day to discontinue semester one units without 'discontinued' showing on academic record. Last day to discontinue semester one units without incurring fees relevant for semester one. Last day to discontinue full-year units without 'discontinued' showing on academic record.
April
06 Fri	Good Friday (university closed). Mid-semester vacation begins.
09 Mon	Easter Monday (university closed).
10 Tues	Easter Tuesday (university closed).
13 Fri	Last day of mid-semester vacation.
18 Wed	Semester one 'Commonwealth assistance notice' forwarded to Commonwealth-supported and/or assisted students.
25 Wed	Anzac Day (university closed).
30 Mon	Census date for teaching periods: full-year (FY-01), full-year - extended (FY-32) and term 2 (T2-57). Last day for discontinuation of semester one units with 'discontinued' showing on academic record. Semester one units discontinued after this date will show as a 'fail'. Last day to discontinue full-year units without incurring fees.
May
02 Wed	Last day for lodging disputed 'Commonwealth assistance notice' for semester one.

30 Sat	Census date for teaching periods: trimester 2 (T2-58) and winter (WS-01).
July
02 Mon	Mid-year enrolments begin.
02 Mon - 04 Wed	Registration for international students
06 Fri	Mid-year enrolments end. Semester two fees due. Students who have not received their 'Enrolment details and fee statement' should contact their faculty to check their enrolment status.
9th July - 13th July	Various mid-year orientation activities during this week.
13 Fri	Semester one results released.
16 Mon	Semester two teaching period commences.
27 Fri	Last day to add semester two on-campus units without risk of late enrolment penalty.
31 Tues	Last day to discontinue full-year units with 'discontinued' showing on academic record. Full-year units discontinued after this date will show as a 'fail'.
August
13 Mon	Last day to discontinue semester two units without 'discontinued' on academic record.
31 Fri	Last day to discontinue semester two units without incurring fees. Census date for teaching periods: semester two (S2-01), semester two - extended (S2-32) and term 3 (T3-57).
September
17 Mon	Last day to discontinue semester two units with 'discontinued' showing on the academic record. Semester two units discontinued after this date will show as a 'fail'.
19 Wed	Semester two 'Commonwealth assistance notice' forwarded to Commonwealth-supported and/or assisted students.
24 Mon	Mid-semester vacation begins.
28 Fri	Last day of mid-semester vacation.
30 Sun	Census date for teaching periods: Start semester two - finish semester one (S2-S1-01), start semester two - finish summer (S2-SS-01) and trimester 3 (T3-58).
October
03 Wed	Last day for lodging disputed 'Commonwealth assistance notices' for semester two.
08 Mon	2008 Re-enrolment commences for coursework award students. Closing dates to be advised in August 2007 via Monash email account.
19 Fri	Semester two ends.
22 Mon - 24 Wed	Swot Vac.
25 Thurs	Semester two examination period begins.
31 Wed	Last day for submission of applications for postgraduate research scholarships. Census date for teaching period: term 4 (T4-57).
November
16 Fri	Semester two examination period ends.
30 Fri	Last day for submission of applications to graduate in semester one 2008. Census date for teaching period: summer A (SSA-02).

Exceptions and additional dates for Australian campuses

Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences

All other dates for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery students apply, excepting the dates of semesters and terms for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery 2007 which are as follows:
