Wendy Anderson (BA(Hons) 1980, DipEd 1981) co-authored the Australian edition of English Grammar for Dummies (John Wiley & Sons, 2008). It includes expert advice covering basic sentence structure to the finer points of grammar such as misplaced apostrophes and when to use "whom".

A new publication by Stella Barber (MA(Arch&Rec) 1999) called Your Store Myer (Focus Publishing, 2008) is the first book published about the 108-year-old company since 1961. It covers the Myer business from its early days in Bendigo, to mergers and takeovers.

In Terrorism and Intelligence in Australia: A History of ASIO and National Surveillance (Australian Scholarly Press, 2008), Frank Cain (PhD 1980) records the Australian Government's response to the "war on terror" following the 9/11 attack.

Benny Tabalujan (BEc 1982, LLB 1984) has edited a new publication covering a range of issues faced by in-house lawyers in corporations and government organisations. Leadership & Management Challenges of In-house Legal Counsel (LexisNexus Butterworths, 2008) includes contributions from experienced in-house counsel and consultants from Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Hong Kong.

John McLaren's (MA 1972) Journey Without Arrival: the life and writing of Vincent Buckley (Australian Scholarly Press, 2009) is his third and latest book about Melbourne's postwar radicals.

Sandra Clough (BA(Human&SocSc) 1998, GradDipA(FamCentPr) 2003) has released a new book called Love and Other Noxious Needs (Sid Harta Publishers, 2008). Her book is about finding love and peace through an understanding of how people respond to others.

Vivienne Corcoran's (GradDipMktg 1993) latest self-published book Growing Your Professional Practice (2008) is a "how to" manual for a variety of professional businesses. It includes practical advice, case studies and access to business templates and tools.

Vivienne Kelly's (PhD 2006) first book, Cooee (Scribe Publications, 2008) is a black comedy about the narrator, Isabel, who battles her way through a series of disastrous decisions.

Robin Gerster (BA(Hons) 1981, MA 1981) has written Travels in Atomic Sunshine: Australia and the occupation of Japan (Scribe Publications, 2008). The book examines the experiences of Australian soldiers in Japan in the aftermath of World War II.

The Future By Us is a new book co-edited by Hugh Evans (BSc 2008, LLB(Hons) 2008) with a foreword by Kevin Rudd. It includes a collection of 10 essays by young Australians imagining their country's future in fields such as sustainability, health, Indigenous affairs, the arts, the economy and foreign relations.
