As an events manager with Tourism New Zealand, Narelle Clayton (GradDipA(Tourism) 2000) is responsible for organising events in the UK and Europe to promote the 100% Pure New Zealand marketing campaign.

Edward Lakman (BBus(Mktg) 2001) runs a new online wine business called Joos.

Jia Zhen (BA 2000, BEc 2000) has returned to Melbourne from Laos where she worked as an Australian Youth Ambassador for Development. She is now a senior program officer at the Nossal Institute for Global Health at the University of Melbourne.

Melbourne primary school teacher Leigh Gardner (GradDipEd(Primary) 2000) has taught in several parts of the world since graduating from Monash, including rural Victoria, Edinburgh (Scotland) and Pennsylvania (USA).

Former Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE teacher Mark Burrows (MA 2001) has received a PhD scholarship from the University of Canberra. His research focuses on the function of riverine ecosystems in NSW.

Also a technical director for Australian Winemakers' equipment department, Rory Lane (BA 2006, MWineTechMktg 2006) is the owner of a small Melbourne-based winery, Story Wines, which produces shiraz from the Grampians in Victoria.

Five alumni from Monash University's Academy of Performing Arts -- Vanessa Cole, Stephanie Lillis, Sarah Kelly, Christopher Talbot and Mark Wilson (BPA(Hons) 2008) have combined their talents to establish their own theatre company.

Sophia Soediro (GradDipA(Comm) 2001, MA 2001, MEd(I&CT ED) 2004) is manager of research administration at the Melbourne College of Divinity. Prior to this, she was a project officer at Charles Darwin University and a project officer within the Centre for Higher Education Quality at Monash University.

Daniel Pay (BCom 2004) is manager of finance (commercial) for Foster's Wine Estates in California, USA.

Jit Han (BE(Mech) (Hons) 2002) designs and tests automation machines as a senior engineer with hard-drive manufacturer Western Digital in the USA.

Talha Ahsan (MMM 2004) is chief executive officer of information technology software development firm Espresso which is located in Lahore, Pakistan.

Former IT professional Wendy Moore (BComp 2002) has launched a real estate investment network that aims to educate and empower female property investors.

Brad Roberts (BBusCom 2004) is the organisational development manager for stock feed manufacturer Ridley AgriProducts, which was named Employer of the Year at this year's Victorian Training Awards.

Currently in Bangladesh, Carly Brunswick (BA 2007) is a volunteer teacher at the Asian University for Women's Access Academy. The academy aims to provide less-fortunate women with a university education in the hope of fostering female leadership in Asia.

Next year, Megan Kerr (BBNSc(Hons) 2005) and current student Roger Chao will travel through central Asia, Mongolia and Russia to experience and document the culture of local ethnic communities. They will travel on a custom-built, four-wheeled cycle (or quike) they designed especially for the journey.

Janet Kwok (BBus(Bkg&Fin) 2005, BBus(Acc) 2005) joined the Nestlé graduate program in 2004 and was recently promoted to the position of international internal auditor.

Michelle Stockwell (BSc(Hons) 2004) was a finalist in the Australia Museum's 2008 Eureka Prizes People's Choice Award for her research which aims to save an endangered frog species from a deadly fungus.

Professional golfer Matt Griffin (BEc 2007, BCom 2007) secured his maiden USA amateur title this year after winning the Rice Planters Amateur tournament in South Carolina.

Resa Lowry (GradDipMedUS 2007) is chief radiographer at the Swan Hill and District Hospital.
