Brigita Ozolins (BA 1980) is an artist and academic within the Tasmanian School of Art at the University of Tasmania. In 2007 she undertook a commission for the Soros Foundation in Latvia and this year received the inaugural Qantas Contemporary Art Award.

Former Brambles executive Brendan Mitchell (BSc 1980, BBus 1990) was recently appointed chief executive officer of Australian crane operator Boom Logistics.

A University of Colombo academic since 1985, Siripala Hettige (PhD 1980) is currently senior professor of sociology within that university's Department of Sociology.

Australian biotechnology company HealthLinx Limited has appointed Dominic Autelitano (BSc(Hons) 1983, PhD 1986) as Chief Scientific Officer.

Helen Webberley (MEd 1981) and her fellow academic colleagues are celebrating 15 years of an internet relay chat channel they developed for adults called 30plus.

Ross Brierty (BSc 1983) is director of marketing at OffsetGo, a new organisation that provides web-based solutions for managing energy audits and sustainability assessments.

As the director of Australindo, Roswita Nimpuno Khaiyath (BA(Hons) 1987, MA 1995) works with Australian businesses that trade with Indonesia. Her daughter, Amira Renita Khaiyath (BA(SocSc) 2002, Comm&MediaSt 2003) lives in London and spends ten weeks of the year in the USA as head counsellor of the International Gymnastics Camp.

Michael Khor (BSc(Hons) 1984, PhD 1989) joins fellow alumnus Teo Ming Kian (BE(Mech)(Hons) 1975) at the National Research Foundation in Singapore where he holds the position of director of projects.

Kah-Ming Ng (BE 1986) is the manager of UK band Charivari Agréable, which uses period instruments to recreate music from the Renaissance to early classical eras.

A senior lecturer at Swinburne University, Anne Seitz (BA(Hons) 1980) recently presented a paper at the University of Oxford's 2008 Round Table Conference in the UK.
