After 31 years as an independent general practitioner, Dr Bill Varney (MBBS 1971) has formed his own general practice in Melbourne.

Hazel Edwards (BA 1971, BEd 1974, MEd 1984) and Goldie Alexander (BA 1975) have developed a series of educational books for older primary school students. The Murdoch Childrens Research Institute is supporting the series which covers a range of health topics.

Terry Budge (BEc 1972) continues to serve as Chancellor of Murdoch University in Western Australia.

Andrea Cone-Farran (BJuris 1973, LLB (Hons) 1975) is an executive coach and psychoanalytical psychotherapist who helps individuals and family businesses manage change and transformation.

Neil Phillips (BSc(Hons) 1974, PhD 1979) is president of the International Rogaining Federation, the peak body representing the sport of long distance cross-country navigation.

Margaret Plunkett (BEc 1978, DipEd 1979, GradDipEd(ProfDevSt) 1995, MEd 2000, PhD 2006) is the Deputy Course Director (Education) with Monash University's Faculty of Education.

Joe Johnson CSC AAM (BA 1975, MA 1984) is chair of the Australian Antarctic Names and Medals Committee, the official authority on names in the Australian Antarctic Territory, the Territory of Heard Island and McDonald Islands.

This year William Pugh (BEd 1974) celebrates 50 years as a minister of the Uniting Church of Australia.

Con Pagonis (BA Hons 1977) is a multicultural policy adviser at the Municipal Association of Victoria.

As the director of the Australian Centre for Environmetrics at the University of Melbourne, David Fox (MAppSc 1979) recently completed a study on the loss of sea grass in Adelaide's coastal waters.
