Following 30 years as a principal scientist at Melbourne Water, Syed Hussainy (PhD 1970) is now a lecturer and adjunct professor in the Department of Sustainability and Innovation at Victoria University.
Alan Fisher (BE 1971) has returned to Australia after four years in Nigeria. He is currently leading the Turrum Project, a new Bass Strait oil and gas platform, for Esso Australia.

Kee Seng Koh (MBBS 1971) has been appointed emeritus professor of obstetrics, gynaecology and family medicine at the University of Southern California, USA.
Chairman of the Victorian Bar Ross Ray QC (BJuris 1974, LLB 1975) was recently appointed president of the Law Council of Australia.
The University of Queensland has made David Williams (BE 1976) its inaugural Golder Professor of Geomechanics and director of the Golder Geomechanics Centre.
Janette Wilson (BSc(Hons) 1977) recently moved into quality and regulatory consultancy work following 26 years at biopharmaceutical company CSL Limited.

Paediatrician Bernie Jenner (MBBS 1973) is a 2008 Australia Day Ambassador. In 2007, he was named Victoria's Local Hero (regional) within the Australian of the Year Awards.
Former Victorian cabinet minister Mark Birrell (BEc 1979, LLB 1982) is now deputy chairman of Australia Post and chairman of Evans & Peck management consultants.
