Richard Evans (MA 2001, PhD 2006) has co-authored a companion book to the ABC television series Constructing Australia (Melbourne University Publishing, 2007). The book tells the human story of three major Australian engineering projects: the Sydney Harbour Bridge; the Perth to Kalgoorlie water pipeline; and the Overland Telegraph. |

Award-winning Australian biographer Brenda Niall (PhD 1988, HonDLitt 2005) has published her own story - Life Class: The Education of a Biographer (Melbourne University Publishing, 2007). Niall describes her own life-journey, the pleasures of biographical discovery and the technical, personal and moral pitfalls of entering other people's lives. |

Aspiring sports journalist Mark Opolion (BBus(Mktg) 2003) has published his first book A Decade of Pride - The History of the Brisbane Lions (Pennon Publishing, 2006). The book examines the ten years since the famous Australian Football League merger between the Fitzroy and Brisbane Bears football clubs. |

Nattavud Pimpa (PhD 2003) has launched his first book Marketing Like a Professional (Se-education, 2006), which focuses on modern Thai consumer behaviour and provides marketing strategy advice for contemporary businesses. The book is a result of research Nattavud has conducted over the last four years as lecturer for the Graduate School of Commerce at Burapha University in Thailand. |

Liz O'Halloran (MAppSocRes 2006) has fulfilled her dream of writing a book based on her interest in the current obesity crisis in Australia. Her book is titled Refresh Your Life (Happy Life, 2007) and includes a 30-day weight-loss program based on a different approach to healthy living. |

Melbourne secondary school teacher Pina Grieco-Tiso (BA 1975, DipEd 1976) has published her fourth novel for young adults, titled Loser! (Insight Publications, 2006) Her book tells the story of a 16-year old boy, Angus, who finds his family life boring. He envies his friends' dysfunctional families and their erratic lifestyles. |

Mark Collard (BBus(Acc) 1985) has written a book about games people can play without having to use equipment. No Props: Great Games with no Equipment (Project Adventure Inc USA, 2005) is based on Collard's extensive experience of adventure programs throughout Australia, the US and South East Asia. It includes trust exercises and group problem-solving activities. |

Author of the popular children's book There's a Hippopotamus on our Roof Eating Cake, Hazel Edwards (BA 1971, BEd 1974, MEd 1980) has published a new book Cycling Solo: Ireland to Istanbul (Brolga Publishing, 2006). Hazel's latest book was co-authored with her son, cartographer Trevelyan Quest Edwards. The story is based on Trevelyan's blog, detailing a 9,000km mountain bike journey from Dublin to Istanbul. |

Author and teacher Lynne Kelly (BE 1973) has published her 13th book, Crocodile: Evolution's Greatest Survivor (Allen & Unwin, 2006), a narrative natural history of crocodiles. Focussing on Australia's two species, the book covers the biology of 23 types of crocodiles found around the world. It includes information on myths, legends, attacks and stories of those who study and farm crocodiles. |

Janine Paterson (MEdSt 1993) has edited the third book in her series Rainbow Theology for Children (Wontulp-Bi-Buya College, 2006); a collection of stories told by Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders, each of which contain a traditional lesson for young children. |
