George Pappas (BEc(Hons) 1968) has become chairman of the Committee for Melbourne. Influence, the latest play by David Williamson, (BE 1965, HonDLitt 1990), has been premiered by the Melbourne Theatre Company.
Edward Potworowski (PhD Med 1967) has been appointed professor emeritus at the University of Quebec following a career in immunology. He now conducts workshops on scientific communication in Canada and Europe. Jim Freemantle (BEc 1968, MAdmin 1972) now lives in Perth where he is deputy chairman of Racing and Wagering WA and chairman of the Prostate Cancer Foundation in WA.

John Wartig (BEc 1979, GradDipAccInfoSys 1990) is chief financial officer of Coca Cola Amatil. Tony Pollock (BA(Hons) 1979) heads IDP Education Australia. In addition to being principal of a Melbourne law firm, Arthur Hallett (BEc 1979, LLB 1981, GradDipFamLaw 1984) has started a travel company that organises tours of Egypt and Europe. He is also completing a masters in history at the Australian Catholic University. Gordon Clark (BEc 1973, MA 1976), the Halford Mackinder professor of geography at the University of Oxford, has been elected a fellow of the British Academy.
Phyllis Wolfe (BA 1975) is now assistant principal at Seymour Special School and enjoys playing the clarinet with Mitchell Shire Concert Band. Now based in the UK, Albin Wallace (BA 1978, MEdSt 1984) is group ICT director of the United Learning Trust and is completing a doctorate of education at Sheffield University. Ern Reeders (BA(Hons) 1981, PhD 1989) is now a consultant on the improvement of university teaching and a professorial fellow at RMIT.
Con Pagonis (BA(Hons) 1977) works at the Victorian office of the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs as director of settlement and multicultural affairs. Keith Wecker (BSc(Hons) 1974, DipEd 1975) is now headmaster of the American Pacific International School in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Glen Clarke (DipArts(Vis) 1978) has won the Australian National Sculpture Prize for 2005 with his entry 'American Crater Near Hanoi #2'.
1980s
Bill Scales AO (BEc 1985) has been appointed chancellor of Swinburne University. Based in Sydney, John Petersen (BA(Hons) 1987, MA 1993) is manager of the Migration Heritage Centre, NSW. Phillip Aspinall (PhD 1989) has been appointed Primate of the Anglican Church in Australia. Through his company Vintessential Laboratories, Marco Vallesi (BSc(Hons) 1983, DipEd 1984) provides export certification testing to Australian wineries and manufactures diagnostic test kits for use in winery laboratories.
After working at La Trobe University and the University of Melbourne, Marta Eppel-Diaz (BA(Hons) 1984) has returned to Monash as a sessional tutor in Hispanic studies. Genevieve Overell (LLB 1984, BA 1984) has taken up the position of deputy secretary of the built environment with the Department of Sustainability and Environment, Victoria. Wells Trenfield (GradDipArts(VisArts) 1987) owns Jasper Coffee. Theatre producer Ross Mollison (BEc 1989) has won the Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience for his off-Broadway show Slava's Snowshow.
1990s
Vallejo Gantner (BA 1999, LLB 1999) is now artistic director of Performance Space 122, one of New York's leading presenters of experimental and innovative art. Beverley Walker (née Stoll) (MBioeth 1996) has semi-retired from a career in nursing but is still a lactation consultant and birth educator. She is also actively involved in a campaign to prevent inappropriate development on the wetlands near her home at Venus Bay. After spending three years teaching at an international school in China, Megan McGregor (BA 1999, GradDipEd 2000) has moved to Northern Ireland to get married.
Steven Fielding (MBA 1992) now sits in the Senate, representing the Family First Party. Melanie Wherrett (BA 1994) works as a technical writer for Boeing Australia and is also raising two daughters. Peta Philp (BA(SocSci) 1990, GradDipSocSc(CounsPsy) 1992) specialises in counselling for post-traumatic stress disorder at a private practice in Mandurah, Western Australia.
Anthony Lawler (BBus(Bkg&Fin) 1999) is an air traffic control specialist at Airservices Australia and recently completed a masters degree in aviation management. Mother of two daughters Leeanne Leong (BBus(MultiDisc) 1994, BBus(Hons) 1996) is vice-president of the Global Treasury, Planning and Support Services division of United Overseas Bank in Singapore. Also a mother of two young children, Anthea Hilliard (née Foote) (BEc 1993, GradDipEc 1994) works for AXA Australia as a senior business analyst.
Michele Marshall (BA(Craft) 1999) has created several stained glass windows for churches in Tooradin, Hastings and Gippsland. She also teaches art at Woodleigh School in Baxter. Jill Dawson (BA(Hons) 1994, GradDipEd(Primary) 1999) teaches at River Gum Primary School , Hampton Park. After spending 15 years as a teacher and welfare worker, Lisa McKay-Brown (BA(SocSci) 1993) has started her own business specialising in training, writing and research for the health and education sectors.
Sin Yoong Ming (BEc 1992, LLB 1993) is a partner in law firm Raja Ariff & Sin, Kuala Lumpur, and recently completed a PhD in political philosophy at Buxton University, London. Mark Williams (BBus(Acc) 1998) is director of CrunchIT, an Apple Mac support company for corporate clients. Martine Howard (BA 1997) performs with Cirque du Soleil as a trapeze artist. Wessley Edgar (BSc(Hons) 1991) is exploration manager for Iberian Resources Limited, an Australian listed gold exploration company with operations in Portugal, where he currently lives.
As a supervising economic development specialist for the National Economic Development Authority in the southern Philippines, Susan Valerio (GradDipEnvSci 1998, MA 1999) undertakes policy research and develops recommendations concerning children and housing issues. Based in Paris, Edward Buckingham (BSc 1996) is a director at Airsec, a packaging firm focusing on the pharmaceutical and diagnostics industries. Peter Hazell (BE 1992) is site manager of Orica's adhesives and resins site in Christchurch, New Zealand. In his role as design manager at Ad-cell Media, Justin van Rossum (BA(VisArts) 1994) has designed the artwork for the Australian Football League's Geelong Football Club. Ann Johnson (AssocDip(WelfSt) 1989, BA(SocSc) 1993) is a psychologist in private practice in Carrum Downs and has self-published her first book, a personal and spiritual development guide.
Adam Indikt (BSc 1991, BLitt(Hons) 1995) heads research production and is the supervisory analyst for Credit Suisse First Boston's Australian Equity Research. Based in San Francisco, Rachael Brennan (BA 1990, LLB 1994) is director of customer service for Gamelink. Also in San Francisco, Jonathan Oliver (PhD 1995) is director of research at IT company Mailfrontier. Wan Roslina Wanmusa (BE 1990) lectures in programming and software engineering at Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Kuantan, Malaysia. Christopher Stocks (BA 1980, GradDipPPM 1997) now lives in India where he is HR director at Just Financial Admin. After spending the past four years as a solicitor in Sarawak, Lam Ko Luen (BCom 1994, LLB 1995) has returned to Kuala Lumpur and is a partner in law firm Messrs Shook Lin & Bok.
Recently elected to the City of Stonnington council, Steven Stefanopoulos (GradDipArch&RecMgt 1997) is also heritage collection and records manager at Loreto Mandeville Hall girls' school. Epeli Tokai (MEPA 1996) works at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji as an education adviser to the Pacific Regional Initiative for the Delivery of Basic Education project. Lucy Marcaccio (BSc 1997) is a GP sales representative for GlaxoSmithKline in Melbourne. Scott Stewart (BSc 1990, DipEd 1991) lectures in paramedic studies at Victoria University. For 12 years, Fiona Ahouzan (BSocWk 1996) has been living in London where she is a social worker at University College Hospital. As an educational developer with the Faculty of Law at Monash, Joanna Becker (MEdSt 1996) helps legal academics and external clients implement and evaluate online learning environments.
2000s
William Fowles (BCom 2002, LLB 2004) has been elected to the Melbourne Cricket Club committee. After completing a hectic eight months as senior budget adviser to the Ministry of Finance in Jakarta, Stephen MacLeod (MPubPolMgt 2003) is now relaxing in the Balkans and working as a budget expert in the Ministry of Finance in Podgorica, Montenegro. George Minjihau (LLM(Commercial Law) 2004) has been promoted to acting state solicitor of Papua New Guinea. David Braithwaite (BA(Journ) 2004) is enjoying life in Sale as a journalist with the Gippsland Times. Mara Reifman (MEd(TESOLInt'l) 2004) is ESL coordinator at Care Training Australia. Based in Sydney, Elizabeth Rawson (BA 2003, BSc(Hons) 2004) is a process engineer at Hewlett Packard. Sutharshan Mahalingam (LLM(IntelProperty) 2003) has been appointed a lecturer at the newly established Department of Law at the University of Jaffna in northern Sri Lanka.
Jenny Game-Lopata (MA 2000) is a lecturer and PhD student at the University of Western Sydney and has released her second CD with Move Records, Jacinta's Song, the Jenny Game Ensemble. Also in New South Wales, Christopher Thompson (BBus(Bkg&Fin) 2003) is treasurer of Calliden Group Limited, a newly formed general insurance company. Amyna Helou (BPharm(Hons) 2004) is a clinical pharmacist at Box Hill Hospital. Philip Argy (BBehavSc 2003) plans to work in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities after completing an MB BS at Notre Dame University, Western Australia.

Kate Ashmor (BA 2004, LLB 2005) is an articled clerk at Pointon Partners in Melbourne. Based in Singapore, Jacqueline Tan (BBusCom 2004) is a dealing assistant at Aberdeen Asset Management Asia Limited. Catharina Sheely (GradDipPsych 2004) is OHS change manager for the Department of Defence in Canberra. Chris Videroni (GradDipDipl&Trade 2002, MPubPolMgt 2003) is a senior policy officer with the Queensland Department of Premier and Cabinet. Rashid Deyeso (BNurs 2004) is an RN at Monash Medical Centre in various wards including urology and orthopaedics. Also working in the medical field is Salman Ahmad Imtiaz (MClinEmbryol 2004), an assistant professor at a teaching hospital in Lahore, Pakistan.
