SynopsisThis unit provides students in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs the opportunity to develop their theoretical underpinnings of curriculum developments in physical education and health. Historical, social, participatory and contemporary discourses and their influence on curriculum development will be examined, via readings, online discussions and face-to-face seminars. The implications of recent state and national curriculum development will be undertaken through reviews of these documents (eg CSFII, VELS) and through recent research and current practices in the field.
