SynopsisThis unit examines the methods and protocols of bioinformatics, genomes, DNA and protein sequence analyses. Topics covered include methods of information retrieval from various internet databases; bioinformatics softwares, data entry of bioinformatics information, computer modelling of macromolecules, and functional genomics. ObjectivesTo understand information content and its flow in the biological systems, and the processes related to the flow; to learn to use bioinformatics software and computer models; to learn to analyse and interpret simple bioinformation data sets; to understand theoretical basis of mining bioinformation.
