The LCL internship (postgraduate) is aimed at helping students gain real world experiences in a range of professional industries. By working with professionals students will be able to acquire skills that will help prepare them for the transition from university to the work place. In applying the knowledge acquired in the classroom, students are able to broaden their understanding of the discipline. The coursework component of the unit will require students to engage in a critical reflective process and this will be evidenced by completion of at least one of the following: critical portfolio, internship reports, critical research essays, or through alternative assessment as appropriate to the specific parameters of the internship. Employers participating in the internship may also become a useful recruitment resource for graduates.
The internship unit aims to help students to:
Industry placement and individual study to the equivalent of 12 point unit
Approval by unit co-ordinator.
