Public transport services to Monash campuses

Timetables

Timetables for metropolitan bus and train services that service the Berwick, Caulfield, Clayton and Peninsula campuses and the Victorian College of Pharmacy in Parkville, can be found on the Victorian state government web site at http://www.metlinkmelbourne.com.au

Berwick

Trains

Berwick campus is situated approximately 1km from the Berwick railway station which is located on the Pakenham train line.

Caulfield

Trains

Caulfield campus is opposite the Caulfield railway station, which is a hub station serviced by trains going to/from Cranbourne, Dandenong, Frankston or Pakenham.

Trams

The number three tram from Swanston Street in Melbourne will take you directly to the Caulfield campus.

Buses

Bus Route 624 which travels between Kew and Oakleigh Railway Station stops at the Caulfield Railway Station adjacent to the campus.

Smart Bus Route 900 which travels between Caulfield and Stud Park along Wellington Road (Smart Bus is a more efficient service by limiting the amount of stops along the route).

Clayton

Trains

Clayton campus is located approximately 1.5km from Clayton railway station which is serviced by trains going to/from Cranbourne, Dandenong, or Pakenham.

Buses

Clayton campus is well-serviced with buses that link with railway stations on the Belgrave, Dandenong-Cranbourne-Pakenham, Frankston, Glen Waverley, Lilydale and Sandringham lines. The following bus services come into the bus loop on Clayton campus off Wellington Road: 630 Elwood - Monash Uni; 631 Waverly Gardens SC - Southland SC; 691 Bayswater - Waverley Gardens; 703 Blackburn - Middle Brighton; 733 Box Hill - Oakleigh; 737 Croydon - Monash Uni; the 802/804/862 all which run via different routes between Dandenong and Chadstone SC. The 742 Eastland - Chadstone bus stops at the back of the University on the ring road. The 800 Dandenong - Chadstone stops approximately 0.5km from the University on Dandenong Road.

Gippsland

Gippsland campus is served by buses and inter-city rail connections (Morwell railway station). Monash University provides a taxi service to the train station and local amenities at peak times for a nominal fee. For more information, contact MUGZOO Central on +61 3 9902 6248.

Public transport on the weekends or after hours at the Gippsland campus are limited; local bus timetables are available from the train station or local taxis can take you to the campus (contact Churchill Taxis on +61 3 5122 1000).

Peninsula

Trains

Peninsula campus is located approximately 2km from Frankston railway station which is located on the Frankston train line.

Buses

The following buses to/from Frankston railway station pass the Peninsula campus: 782 Flinders; 783 Hastings; 775 Lakewood; 776 Pearcedale. The 790 bus which runs between Cranbourne West and Frankston has a stop approximately 1km from the campus on the corner of the Cranbourne-Frankston Road and the Moorooduc Highway (also called McMahons Road).

Parkville

Trains

Trains from all suburbs of Melbourne arrive at Flinders Street station and a number of other city stations. Flinders Street station is a short tram ride from the campus (20 minutes). In addition, Royal Park railway station is less than a kilometre away from the college on the Upfield line.

Trams

Parkville campus is served by trams travelling along Elizabeth Street and Royal Parade. NOTE: The number 19 tram from Flinders Street station to North Coburg passes the Victorian College of Pharmacy and is the only tram that travels along Royal Parade.

South Africa

A shuttle bus service is available from several off-campus destinations at set times during the semesters. Students can buy tickets and get relevant timetables from the Student Service Centre.
