Berwick

Monash Union of Berwick Students

The Monash Union of Berwick Student Inc (MUBS) is an elected body that represents students at the Berwick campus. MUBS is committed to providing activities, information and services for Berwick students. MUBS advocates for student rights and encourages equality and involvement within the University. There are opportunities for students to join clubs and participate in a variety of events throughout the year. Students can visit the MUBS service desk to send faxes, buy discounted phone cards and newspaper subscriptions, and have their assignments photocopied, laminated and bound. Facilities provided by MUBS include student lounges with a pool table and foosball, the MUBS home gym, a licensed bar and bistro, free tea and coffee, kitchen facilities and picnic and barbecue areas.

MUBS events

MUBS organises activities throughout the year including O-Week, barbecues, sporting events, international and health and well-being themed weeks and festivities, market days, short courses and parties. Students are encouraged to contribute ideas and volunteer time for MUBS events by becoming a Friend of MUBS. MUBS publications

MUBS produces a weekly newsletter - `Mooscoop' - to inform students of events and issues at Berwick. Students wishing to submit contributions or advertisements should contact the Media Representative at media@mubs.com.au or via the MUBS office on +61 3 9904 7133.

`Ink', the MUBS magazine for Berwick students, includes reviews, student submissions, travel articles, jokes and Berwick information. To make a submission or get involved, email the `Ink' editors at ink@mubs.com.au.

Student support services

Student rights services

Contact your faculty administrative officers for advice on such matters as discipline, academic progress, special consideration, appeals procedures and administrative problems. Alternatively, the Monash Union of Berwick Students is available to help students with any problems, and if necessary students will be referred to the appropriate student rights officer. MUBS clubs and societies

MUBS clubs and societies include the Ultra Outdoor Club, which offers high-energy activities such as paintball and ski trips; the Foundation Allowing Liquor Under Sound Appreciation (FALUSA), which holds themed student parties; the Monash Marketing Students Society; Monash TV which films TV shows; the Monash Accounting Students Association; and the Christian Union. Starting your own club or society

MUBS provides financial grants and other support for Berwick students wishing to start their own club or society. Contact the MUBS Vice President for further information on +61 3 9904 7092 or email vice.president@mubs.com.au.

Berwick International Student Association

Berwick International Students Association (BISA) is a subcommittee of MUBS representing the international students of the Berwick campus. BISA advocate on behalf of international students and run a number of social functions, such as multicultural week, a multicultural ball and tours.
