Official University correspondence

As a student you are a member of the Monash community and you will receive correspondence that you must attend to. Faculties and other divisions of the University will correspond with you via your Monash email account and/or postal address. See below for details of the types of official correspondence.

Online correspondence

Your student email account

All students are issued with a Monash University email account. This is a common means by which the University will communicate with you on a range of important administrative matters. When corresponding with the University via email, you must use your Monash email account. Using this account helps to ensure the identity and validity of the communication, as your personal Authcate details are required.

The University will communicate with you through the Monash email account, even if your inquiry is lodged from an external email account.

It is an essential requirement that you check your Monash email account on a regular basis. All students agree to this requirement when they enrol and re-enrol.

my.monash portal

Personal information for you will be sent to you via your Monash email account, but general student information broadcast notices are often issued via the my.monash portal. You should check for notices frequently by logging in to http://my.monash.edu.au

Printed correspondence from the University

Occasionally, your faculty, or your scholarship administrator if you have a scholarship, or other administrative units of the University will write to you about important issues relating to your course, fees or enrolment. It is essential that you read and respond to any such letters. Failure by you to respond or take action may have unintended consequences.
