Intellectual property

Intellectual property' (IP) is a generic term for various rights resulting from intellectual activity. Intellectual property can be protected under legal Acts relating to areas such as patents, copyright, designs, circuit layouts, trade marks, and plant breeder's rights.

Intellectual property is most likely to apply to research students, however coursework students are also are encouraged to find out about intellectual property if you think the guidelines might relate to you.
