4. Approval of subjects

4.1 Before enrolling in any year, a candidate must obtain approval of the director for the selection of subject to be taken in the year.

4.2 Except with the permission of the director, a candidate shall not -

5. Assessment of studio subjects

5.1 All studio subjects are assessed or moderated by a panel of examiners at the end of each semester. Not less than an eighty percent attendance record is required before a student may present for examination and/or assessment in any subject. Exceptions must be approved by the director.

5.2 Not less than an eighty percent submission record, to specified deadlines, is required for set assignment material in any subject before a candidate may present for assessment. Major design project submissions in specified fields are all compulsory and any exceptions must be approved by the director. Project submissions must conform to prescribed deadlines.

The standard is normally set at credit level, or above.

8.2 Candidates may specialise in one major area for one year of full time study or study a selected range of subjects over two years of part-time study.

8.3 The program of study shall be established in consultation with the director and monitored by a panel of experts until a satisfactory level has been attained and assessment or examination arranged.

9. Changes in regulations

9.1 Subject to this section, a candidate must comply with these regulations as in force from time to time.

9.2 Where the college board considers that a candidate has, since first enrolling for the degree, been unreasonably adversely affected by any change in the regulations, the college board must permit the candidate to qualify for the degree under the regulations in force at some time during candidature, provided the board is satisfied that the work so required to be completed is equivalent in standard to that currently required to complete the course of study.
