Batch processes: batch and semicontinuous operations; Gantt charts; overlapping batches. Introduction to process control: process requirements; external disturbances; stability of the process. Control configurations: feedback, inferential, cascade, feedforward and ratio control. Control of unit operations: level, flow, pressure, heat exchanger, distillation and reactor control. Control of complete processes: systems of interacting units; intermediate storage. Safety.
