Objectives

Upon completion of a major sequence in tropical biology, students will have:

  • a knowledge scientific principles, concepts and skills in areas of science relevant to tropical biology, such as environmental science, ecology, aquatic and terrestrial tropical biology, and conservation of bioresources
  • the skills to effectively communicate, liaise and cooperate with others in a multidisciplinary setting and to write professionally in the field of tropical biology
  • a knowledge of relevant quantitative and qualitative field and laboratory research techniques and analytical skills in tropical biology
