SynopsisThe unit provides a significant learning experience for students in implementing the principles, skills and strategies of collaborative education, by establishing a community group or workplace project to advance understanding in the development of community engagement towards sustainability. The unit provides a framework and supervised practice that requires the student to reflect on the integration of theory and practice in facilitating skill development within their community or workplace. ObjectivesOn successful completion of this unit students will: demonstrate a highly developed understanding of the principles and practice of rural/regional community development, integrating and extending the knowledge from RCD4601 with new experientially-acquired knowledge; and demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the value and effectiveness of collaborative learning strategies and self directed learning in relation to rural/regional community development through application to a community project.
