SynopsisThe unit surveys the source of economic development during the nineteenth and twentieth century with an emphasis on fluctuations in growth rates. Topics include analysis of climate, geography, institutions, human capital and technology on long-run growth. These topics are intended to enhance students' understanding of why some countries are rich whilst others are poor. Objectives
