Synopsis

This unit will cover the formulation of nutraceuticals, processed foods, injectables and surface coatings. It will also cover polymer synthesis, structure and properties.

Objectives

At the end of this unit unit, students will be able to:

1. describe the principles behind the formulation of nutraceuticals, processed foods, injectables and surface coatings;
2. describe the principles of polymer synthesis and
3. explain the relationships between a polymer's structure and its properties

End of semester examination 70%
