Networks Hardware, software and topologies. Communications transmission styles and protocols. Uses Electronic mail; the internet; bulletin boards and file transfers. Scripting languages and the design and maintenance of internet sites. Presentation Hypermedia, multimedia and presentation software. ObjectivesUpon successful completion of this unit, students should understand the basic concepts and structures of networks; understand the concept of electronic mail systems; have gained practical experience of electronic mail systems; have gained practical experience in presentation software applications; understand a conceptual model of the internet, hypermedia and multimedia; have gained practical experience in script programming and WEB authoring.
