There are several different versions of GEMPACK, but they all allow you to use and modify existing models or to build new models. The main difference between the versions is the size of the models they can handle.
The Limited Executable-Image Version can only handle medium-sized models. That means single-country models with up to about 40 sectors or multi-regional models with up to about 9 or 10 regions and sectors. The Source-Code Version and the Unlimited Executable-Image Version can handle models of any size. You are limited only by the amount of memory on your computer. The main difference between the Source-Code Version and the Unlimited Executable-Image Version is that the Source-Code Version solves large models much more quickly than the Unlimited Executable-Image Version.
The Limited Executable-Image Version is ideal for use in teaching, including in a computer laboratory. We use the Limited Executable-Image in our annual courses.
The Limited Executable-Image Version is a good starting point. If your models become too large you can upgrade to the Unlimited Executable-Image Version or to the Source-Code Version later.
Either the Unlimited Executable-Image Version or the Source-Code Version is what you will probably need.
For government departments, research institutes, private sector organisations or academics using large models, the Source-Code Version is most appropriate.

Each GEMPACK Version has its own type of licence. In addition there is an Introductory GEMPACK licence.
If you purchase the Source-Code Version, your licence will be a site licence. A site licence can be used by any number of modellers within the relevant part (department, centre etc) of your organisation.
The Limited Executable-Image is available either as a site licence or as a single-user licence.
The Unlimited Executable-Image Version is only available as a single-user licence.
