Change December 2006 Windows programs in this bundle now use the more recent CHM help file format (instead of the older HLP files). There are also some font changes. Both changes are aimed at the upcoming Vista version of Windows. The package has been renamed to BUNDLE08.EXE. Please report any difficulties or annoyances.
Change August 2005 The version of SLTOTHTA.EXE included in the "BUNDLE" is LF95-based (previously it was LF90-based). See the Special Advice below.
These programs are intended for use with GEMPACK version 9.0 [2005] or 10.0 [2008]. They require
Windows 2000 or later.

The main programs are:
ViewHAR data file (HAR) viewer and editor
ViewSOL solution file (SL4) viewer.
TABMate editor for examining, modifying and debugging TAB files
The Charter for graphing numbers from ViewHAR and ViewSOL
All four programs are contained within a single self-extracting EXE. Download and run BUNDLE08.EXE to install all four. Each program has a Help...What's New command which lists main new features.
BUNDLE08.EXE also installs several command-line programs, including: TstHAR (set DOS errorlevel according to Boolean stored on HAR file); AggHAR (data aggregation program); WHERE32 (locates files on your hard disk); DIRSIZES (shows sizes of directories and subdirectories); MergeHAR (combines headers from 2 HAR files into 1, versatile options); DiffHAR (computes ordinary or % differences between 2 HAR files); TABLTG (a batch file which, IF NEEDED, runs TABLO and LTG). See file BONUS.TXT for more details.
Warning
DO NOT download the above file if you are using GEMPACK 8 (or previous). These newer
programs may not work properly, and you might have to re-install GEMPACK to set things
right.
If you have previously installed any of these programs, it is your responsibility to check that existing icons and shortcuts point to the newly installed version, not the old version. The Help..About box for each program shows which version is running.

Special Advice to users of GEMPACK Source Code Version using Lahey LF90
compiler
(and to users of GEMPACK Version 8 Executable-Image edition)
If you are using the LF95 or Intel compiler, or if you have Version 9 Executable-Image
edition, please ignore the advice below.
ViewSOL and some other programs use the SLTOHTA.EXE program to process solution
files.
There are two versions of SLTOHTA.EXE:
(a) one optimized for use with SL4 files made by LF90 programs (size about 1 Mb)
(b) one optimized for use with SL4 files made by LF95 programs (size about 1.6 Mb)
Either (a) or (b) should work for you, but (a) will work faster for SL4 files that you
create. The download file BUNDLE08.EXE will overwrite your original copy of SLTOHTA.EXE
with LF95 version (b) above. This is probably sub-optimal. However, BUNDLE08.EXE also
contains an LF90 version, named SLTOHT90.EXE. To restore the original situation (ie, make
SLTOHTA.EXE an LF90 program), you should, after installing BUNDLE08.EXE, copy
SLTOHT90.EXE to SLTOHTA.EXE (ie, overwrite SLTOHTA.EXE with SLTOHT90.EXE).
To understand more about this issue, see the ViewHAR online help topic "Lahey and Fujitsu File Formats". Note that GEMPACK Version 9 Executable-Image edition is LF95-based. Previous versions of the Executable-Image edition were LF90-based. BUNDLE08 contains a Windows program FLAVOUR, to help you recognize LF90-based HAR and EXE files.
If you have a problem with these programs, you should first download the latest versions from this page, and install them again. New problems are discovered and fixed every month. If the problem persists, contact Mark Horridge (see below), but be sure to email him the "diagnostic file" which you can get from the Help..About command in each program.
This page gives access to various Object Pascal routines for reading, writing, and manipulating the HAR (header array) files used by GEMPACK. You would need access to, and familiarity with, the Borland Delphi compiler to use these. They might be useful for processing data or result files used in the GEMPACK system.
