When Windows 7 was released in October 2009, the most recent version of GEMPACK was Release 10.0-001 (April 2009). Therefore, GEMPACK versions up to Release 10.0-001 do not officially support Windows 7 (since it did not exist when they were released).
Nevertheless, we have found that GEMPACK Release 10 (and later) perform on Windows 7 just the same as on Vista. So far as we know, for GEMPACK purposes, Windows 7 has no particular advantage over Vista.
There have been reports that you need to upgrade your Intel compiler for use on Windows 7 (more details here). However, we have not observed a problem.
If you are moving to Windows 7, you may consider moving to 64-bit Windows at the same time. There is some advice on that here.
