Summary of GEMPACK Versions

The table below summarizes features of different versions of GEMPACK. The table below relates to Release 10.0 (May 2008) of GEMPACK. Prices may not be up-to-date. For more recent information see GEMPACK prices and GEMPACK versions.

Note 1: Only source-code licensees can create TABLO-generated EXE programs. Such programs may be freely distributed to others, but they will only run large models if the user has some type of GEMPACK licence (more details).

Note 2: Prices in the Table above are only indicative and may not be up-to-date. Discounts are available for upgraders, universities and lower-income countries. The prices in the Table are for the single payment option. For the source code version, it is also possible to make annual payments, which give free upgrades and continuing support. To get the FULL pricing information you must read GEMPACK prices.

Note 3: Here "medium" means limited by the sizes spelled out in detail in chapter 6 of GEMPACK Document GPD-7. Included amongst allowable "medium-sized" models are ORANI-G with up to 35 sectors and GTAP with up to 9 regions and 9 tradeable commodities.

Note 4: For TABLO, "simple" means no more than 150 EQUATION statements, no more than 100 FORMULA statements and no more than 700 statements in total.

Note 5: GEMPACK Release 9 and previous included a free "demonstration" Executable-Image version of GEMPACK, which was limited to "small" models. For GEMSIM, "small" meant:
no more than 2000 (components of) variables (exogenous and endogenous, including any backsolved for),
no more than 1500 (components of) endogenous variables, including any backsolved for,
no more than 1000 (components of) variables (exogenous and endogenous) in the condensed system,
no more than 600 (components of) endogenous variables in the condensed system,
no more than 4000 nonzeros in the Left-Hand Side (LHS) matrix (for any step of the simulation),
total number of reals and integers used for coefficients (pre-simulation and updated), plus those used to store simulation results, must be no more than 80,000.
total number of components of variables (in the condensed system or backsolved for) with one argument and more than 40 components must not be more than 100.

Note 6: Without a licence, SAGEM will solve:
no more than 16,000 (components of) variables (exogenous and endogenous) in the Equations Matrix for the condensed system,
no more than 10,000 (components of) endogenous variables in the Equations Matrix for the condensed system,
no more than 75,000 nonzeros in the Left-Hand Side (LHS) matrix.

With any licence, no limits apply to SAGEM.

Note: The Release 7.0 (October 2000) version of SAGEM could be used only for medium models with a Limited Executable-Image licence, or small models without such a licence.

Note 7: If you have an Executable-Image GEMPACK licence (Limited or Unlimited), you can only run the versions of TABLO and GEMSIM supplied with the Executable-Image Versions of GEMPACK.
