Student life

University is about more than just study and books. Our Parkville campus is a great community – just ask our students.

Starting in Orientation Week, your uni experience is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet people, try something new and develop your skills. You can get involved in campus life through:

Accommodation

On-campus accommodation is not available at the Parkville campus, but nearby Melbourne University residential colleges reserve some places for Monash Parkville students.

Monash Residential Services can help you to find a private rental nearby. If you're an international student, we can help you find short-term accommodation when you first arrive in Australia.

More than a degree

We know our students are switched on when they arrive. That's why our education model – the Monash Passport – is a 'why wait' model.

It's designed to improve your career prospects and enrich your personal development – so you have the knowledge, skills and desire to make a positive impact on the world by the time you graduate.

Many Monash Passport programs can appear on your Australian Higher Education Graduate Statement, giving you an edge when you begin your career.

The Monash Passport offers many ways to enhance your university experience.

Learn through volunteering – mentor current students, support peer-assisted learning or work on an international aid project.

Create international networks – study for a semester in Malaysia, complete a professional experience placement in the USA, UK or Singapore, or travel to an international research conference.

Fast-track your career – get industry experience through professional placements or practice your oral presentation skills at the Parkville Postgraduate Research Symposium.

Learn to lead – join the faculty's student ambassador program, run a club or take an elective on leadership.

Start researching – complete a summer research program or undertake a research project as part of your course.

Explore the many ways Monash can lend a helping hand, especially with:
