If you've commenced or completed other science-related tertiary studies, we encourage you to consider transferring to our undergraduate courses.
You need to apply at the end of the year to start with us in the first semester of the following year because we don't have a mid-year intake.
If you're a domestic applicant, you can apply with your results from a complete or incomplete bachelor degree in a science-related field (such as a BSc, BBiomed, BPharm, BPharmSci). As a minimum, your results must satisfy the average score requirements listed under our courses below. Keep in mind that competition for places is often strong, and you might need a higher average grade.
All applicants applying for the Bachelor in Pharmacy or Pharmacy/Commerce, must submit a completed Monash University Pharmacy Supplementary Information Form.
Bachelor of Pharmacy/Bachelor of Commerce
Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science
We prefer you to have completed first-year university chemistry and mathematics subjects with excellent results.
If you didn't complete or meet subject entry requirements in year 12 of high school, you need to complete equivalent subjects in your first year of tertiary study with a distinction (70%) grade.
For example, if you achieved a study score of less than 30 in chemistry or mathematical methods in year 12, you need to pass the equivalent subjects with distinction in your first year of university.
We don't give preference to Monash applicants. All applicants must meet the same minimum criteria.
Credit for prior studies is assessed after you enrol. You apply for it when you enrol and are assessed on an individual basis. We approve it before the start of semester and provide you with a course map.
If you've completed a three-year Bachelor of Biomedical Science or similar degree, you should complete our Bachelor of Pharmacy in three years, but most transfer applicants take four years to complete our course, based on the amount of credit normally received and unit sequencing.
Monash students can apply for a transfer internally by submitting a completed application form [pdf, 76.3kb] to our faculty by the due date – typically late October.
But if you're in the final year of a Monash degree and wish to apply for another Monash degree, you must submit your application through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC).
You need to apply through VTAC and include transcripts of your tertiary results. VTAC begins accepting applications from August each year.
