I am Ricky, a Monash student. I came from Indonesia to Australia around three and half years ago for a 10-week English course at MUELC (Monash University English Language Centre). After that, I studied a Diploma of IT at Monash College for another year in Clayton before transferring to a Bachelor of Information Technology and Systems at Monash University in Caulfield.
Monash has very large campuses, especially at Clayton. Every faculty has their own buildings. I remember back when I first arrived, I got lost at Monash.
Other than that, Monash provides a range of facilities for students, such as; counselling services, accommodation services and many clubs.
I participated in the Monash mentoring program whilst at college and university. The purpose of this program is to guide new students (especially international student) through their first 6 weeks at Monash.
During my 3rd year, I volunteered for the Australian University Games, held at Monash Clayton. My job was to register the Touch players. Moreover, I also joined PPIA club (Indonesian Club) and the IT committee. My job is to create and maintain the PPIA blog as our main communication channel. We also organise some events, such as BBQs and Soundsekerta (a live concert with Indonesian artists).
It is really fun studying at Monash. You don't just study here; you can participate in many activities and interact with other people.
