Elly - a mature-age student's story

smiling students

As a mature age student, I don't have much time on my hands. I combine part-time work (a must for most of us), doing assignments, readings, attending tutes and lectures and caring for my household. Doing things like taking time out to go shopping or even just reading for leisure has become an absolute luxury. Therefore, it was imperative that the university I chose had to have many support services. Monash Caulfield has so many great services and for me, assistance with childcare was a distinct bonus. At Caulfield the Child Care Centre has taken a load off my mind about what to do with my young son while I attend classes. As a single parent, it has been reassuring to have the ability to get someone to look after my child while I study. The support services have made all the difference for me in deciding whether to quit study or to stay on and pursue my schooling. Looks like I'm here for the long haul.
