Congratulations on your offer and welcome to Monash University. As an international student, we want you to get the most out of your time studying in Australia. Orientation is a great time to learn more about the academic expectations as well as meeting people and making friends.
The Essential information sessions aim to introduce you to university life in Melbourne, including the services and facilities available to you.
You are required to attend one of these orientation sessions, where we will discuss the following topics:
You'll have the opportunity to meet staff and other students and ask questions about any aspect of settling in to life at Monash University.
To ensure you attend this compulsory session, check the Orientation ePlanner for session times on your campus. You can add the session to your personal orientation program, alongside other compulsory orientation events, such as faculty and campus welcomes.
You'll also find a huge range of fun, social activities, giving you the opportunity to meet your faculty staff and fellow students.
Research students: If you arrive after the orientation period, you need to register to attend one of the sessions on your campus:
Monash Day Out is open to all international students and is a fun-filled day meeting Australian animals at the Healesville Animal Sanctuary. For an opportunity to see koalas, kangaroos and other native animals, see the details at Monash Day Out.
Postgraduate students can find support and advice from the Monash Postgraduate Association, which also offers postgraduate orientation events and resources.
