Bar

If you're feeling thirsty, have a break at the bar in the student lounge. Discount drinks are available for MUBS card holders.

Bookshop

Visit the Berwick bookshop on the ground floor of building 902. It is open Mondays to Fridays, from 10AM to 2PM during semesters and from 10AM to 4PM during the first two weeks of each semester. Telephone (03) 9904-7091 for more details.

Cafe

When hunger strikes, head to the ground floor cafe Monash Meeting Point in building 901, open daily from 8:30AM to 5:00PM during semester and 9:00AM to 3:00PM at other times. Telephone (03) 9904-7015.

Disability Liaison Unit (DLU)

The DLU provides a range of services to assist students who have a disability or long-term medical condition to participate as independently as possible in academic activities. DLU can assist in the provision of services including note-taking, AUSLAN interpreters, liaison with lecturers, alternate arrangements for exams and provision of materials in different formats such as Braille, disk or audio. The DLU officer is available for consultations on Monday mornings and is located in room G04 of the Health, Wellbeing and Development Hub, building 930. Employment and Career Development

Employment and Career Development provides a wide range of services, programs and resources to students throughout their course at Monash, which continue to be free up to six months after studies are completed. Services include the Jobs Online database which advertises more than 23,000 casual, part-time, vacation and graduate vacancies per year and targeted programs for those entering the graduate labour market.

All students also have access to Job Seeker workshops and career consultants are available by individual appointment for those students requiring more intensive assistance with regards to careers planning, course or employment advice.

The office is located at Building 901, Room G40. You will need to book an appointment by telephoning (03) 9904-7019.

Faculty administration

Your faculty administration office is a one-stop shop for all your course administration needs. For assistance with change of enrolment, leave of absence, special consideration, deferred examination, credit transfer, course progression, overseas exchange and academic advice, visit your friendly staff administrator. The Arts faculty office is located on the first floor of building 902 in room 182, Business and Economics is located on the first floor of building 901 in room 140, and Information Technology is on the first floor of building 903 in room 1110.

Health Wellbeing & Development

The Health Wellbeing and Development ‘Hub’  at Berwick provides professional counselling and advice on personal and study-related matters, student loans and grants, chaplaincy, family and child care advice, and international student support.  Health, Wellbeing and Development aims to provide support and advice to students and staff on emotional, psychological, health, financial, accommodation, religious/spiritual, child care and physical concerns to enhance their academic performance and the University community life.  Contact Health Wellbeing and Development on (03) 9904-7019, or visit building 930 (at the base of the communications tower).

International Student Support is part of the ‘HWD’ Hub and provides specialised advice, assistance and services to meet the special needs of international students regarding: settling in and commencing studies; relevant government regulations and making cultural adjustments to enhance the living and studying experience in Australia. Ink office

Budding writers, photographers, designers and editors should check out Ink, the Berwick student magazine, and submit! Go to the first floor of building 902, room 177, contact the editors on (03) 9904-7021 or email the Ink Office.

Information Technology Services

If you can't print it, send it or turn it on, go to the IT Service Desk located in the Berwick Library and Learning Commons on the ground floor of building 901, where you can also get help with setting up a computer account and an email address or organising printing on campus. ITS can be contacted on (03) 9904-7777.

Learning Skills

To improve your academic English and approach to study, go to a library drop-in session for a brief 10 to 15 minute consultation with a learning skills adviser about your assignment or academic skills. These library services are particularly suited to new and international students. You can also benefit from learning about oral communication and presentation, reading, study and exam preparation, effective listening and note-taking in lectures and seminars, analysis, problem-solving and critical thinking, and academic essay, report and thesis writing. Classes and workshops are scheduled throughout the semester. Information about learning skills services can be found at the Learning skills web page.  

Library and Learning Commons

The Library and Learning Commons on the ground floor of building 901 is one of the most important locations on campus. Telephone (03) 9904-7116.

Mature-Age/International Students' Lounge

A lounge is available for use by mature-age and international students in room G57 located on the ground floor of building 902.

Monash Postgraduate Association (MPA)

 The Monash Postgraduate Association (MPA) represents and serves the interests and welfare of postgraduates enrolled on all Victorian campuses by providing activities and services to cater to their specific needs. The MPA offices are located in room 1-51, first floor, Campus Centre, Clayton campus and room HB33, basement, building H, Caulfield campus. For making an appointment on other campuses please contact the MPA office between 9am–5pm on 9905 3197 or visit the MPA web site.  

Monash Residential Services

For assistance with on and off-campus accommodation needs, please contact Monash Residential Services via telephone (03) 9904-7118, email MRS, visit the MRS web site , or come and see us at Building 955, Residential Pavilion which is part of the Hall of Residence area.

Monash Union of Berwick Students Inc. (MUBS)

MUBS - students elected by the students for the students. At the MUBS service desk (room 173 on the first floor of building 902), you can talk to your student representatives, have your assignments bound and laminated, sign up for a free massage, join a club/society, find out what’s happening in Berwick and much more. Moo Scoop newsletter

Moo Scoop is a weekly student newsletter, providing essential information about what's happening at Berwick as well as articles of general interest. It is available on Monday mornings during semester. If there is anything you would like published, contact or email the media officer at MUBS.

Service Centre

Visit the Service Centre on the ground floor of building 901 or telephone (03) 9904-7111 to notify them if you have changed your address or have any questions about fees.

Student Assistance for Postgraduates

The Monash Postgraduate Association (MPA) provides professional and confidential advice to postgraduates on a range of issues including: administration, supervision, intellectual property, course quality, intermissions and extensions, assessment, resources, plagiarism, scholarships, thesis examination processes, faculty grievance processes. Student Lounge

The student lounge located on the ground floor of building 902 is your place to relax. Play free pool or fooseball, enjoy a free coffee, watch a movie, have a drink at Oscar's Bar and relax on the couches. Look out for the guys and girls wearing MUBS badges, they are your elected committee members and they are here to help you.

Student Ombudsman

The Student Ombudsman will review student complaints that have not been able to be resolved through the faculty or department processes.  The Student Ombudsman is independent and impartial and is not an advocate for the University or the student.  All matters brought to the Student Ombudsman are treated in confidence.  See the Student Ombudsman web site or phone 9905 3104.
