More than 400 new wireless access points have been installed in key teaching spaces at the Caulfield, Clayton, Berwick and Gippsland campuses.
This $600,000 Wireless Project, provided by eSolutions, has been improving wireless access in some of the 1000-plus teaching spaces at Monash University. It has increased the ability for academics and students to work online using a variety of mobile devices and collaborative tools.
The project includes a refresh of 200 of the oldest wireless access points, which have limited capacity, and increasing the wireless capacity available for students. Communication has recently been sent to Monash students via email informing them of the improved wireless access. Larger teaching spaces have taken first priority and several spaces across multiple campuses are currently undergoing wireless installation.
