As the end of the year approaches many employees are in the process of applying for leave. All leave requests should be completed online through Employee Self Service (ESS). While staff were previously required to be on-campus to access ESS, the system is now available off-campus through a token-based access system.

To use the system, staff must first log into ESS and ensure their mobile phone number is recorded, under personal information – email and mobile phone, before completing the following:

  • Tick the check box on the initial ESS token access screen and click send me an SMS token.
  • The system will then send you a 6-digit number to your mobile.
  • Enter this number into the login screen to obtain ESS access.

Full instructions are available at the Accessing ESS from off-campus website.

Through ESS, staff can apply for leave, gain access to pay slips, complete approvals and update personal details. The initiative contributes to the improvement of services and is a great benefit to staff who are frequently away from the office.

Please note that a system upgrade has been planned to enhance compatibility across all browsers and to support Safari for MAC users.

If you routinely based outside the Monash network, please contact HR enquiries on 9902 0400 and they can assist with setting up access.
