Monash University wishes to congratulate Professor Marnie Hughes-Warrington on her appointment as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at the Australian National University.
Professor Hughes-Warrington had served as Monash Pro Vice-Chancellor (Learning and Teaching) since 2009.
In that time she had overseen the quality enhancement of learning and teaching activities at Monash, and was highly influential in the development and implementation of flagship University projects such as the Virtual Learning Environment and the Monash Passport.
The Monash Passport is a unique educational model designed to improve students' career prospects and enrich their personal development.
Monash Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) Professor Adam Shoemaker said Professor Hughes-Warrington had worked tirelessly to maintain the University's high standards of learning and teaching.
"I want to thank Professor Hughes-Warrington for her profound, collegial commitment to education at Monash and for her dedication to learning and teaching across the entire University" Professor Adam Shoemaker said.
"I have no doubt that she will excel in her new role."
Professor Hughes-Warrington is a recipient of the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC) Teaching Excellence Award in Humanities and the Prime Minister's Award for University Teacher of the Year.
