Monash University is poised to launch a new campaign that encourages Melbourne's eastern suburban residents to take up further study at the University's Peninsula campus.
With the opening of the multi million dollar Eastlink project, Monash University Pro Vice Chancellor Professor Phillip Steele says quality educational courses at the campus are now easily accessible to tens of thousands more residents living and working along the 39 kilometre road corridor.
"Study at Monash University is now even closer than you think," said Professor Steele.
"The opening of Eastlink is an exciting time for Monash University and creates a wide range of new educational opportunities at the Peninsula campus at Frankston for people living everywhere from Doncaster to Dandenong."
"Now it is even easier for people living in the eastern suburbs ofMelbourne to access a high quality course at Monash University, one of Australia's most prestigious universities."
Monash University is Australia's largest, with more than 55,000 students at six campuses in Victoria, campuses in Malaysia and South Africa as well as a presence in Italy and India.
Professor Steele said the Peninsula campus offered high-quality courses in a bayside location.
"The campus already hosts 3,500 students. It is small enough to offer a personalised learning experience, but large enough to provide a full range of services, including state-of-the-art childcare facilities," Professor Steele said.
"The Peninsula campus has a teaching and research focus on health, development and wellbeing. Courses include business and commerce, early childhood and primary education, sport and outdoor recreation, health sciences, nursing and midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, community emergency health and paramedic practice."
"We are anticipating increased demand from high-achieving Year 12 students looking to study their first degree and quality mature age students looking to change or build their career."
"Monash University Open Day, being held at the Peninsula campus on Saturday August 2 is an ideal opportunity to come and visit, have a look around and discover the world of opportunity a Monash University degree will bring you."
"Eastlink brings you closer to a quality education at Monash University."
