China experts talk

China experts from politics, business and academia will discuss the Asian giant's economic explosion, and its implications for Australia, at a conference to be co-hosted by Monash University tomorrow, Thursday 14 October.
'Growing with China: opportunities, myths and realities', will feature speakers including: former Prime Minister, the Honourable Bob Hawke, AC; Victorian Treasurer, Mr John Brumby; Melbourne's Lord Mayor, the Honourable John So; China business specialist and partner in the law firm, Deacons, Mr Ian McCubbin; Business Council of Australia president, Mr Hugh Morgan; Asian Demographics CEO, Dr Clint Laurent; Hong Kong Airport Authority chairman, Dr Victor Fung and several Monash academics including Associate Dean, MBA and DBA programs, Professor Rob Willis.
Mr Brumby will deliver the keynote address, 'China and Victoria: the trade links'; Dr Laurent will discuss China's image as a vast consumer market; Mr Hawke will outline key success factors in doing business in China and Mr McCubbin will pinpoint opportunities in China for Australian business.
