Work and employment focus for research centre

26 October 2004

Monash University will launch its Australian Centre for Research in Employment and Work (ACREW) at Federation Square on Wednesday 27 October.

Established in recognition of the significance of work issues, the centre will promote responsive and socially responsible research and educational programs.

ACREW will present a large worker attitude survey at the launch. The Australian Worker Representation and Participation Survey is the Australian component of a large-scale international study of worker perceptions of their influence and participation in the workplace.

With more than 40 Academic staff, ACREW is one of the largest Australian concentrations of researchers in the field of work and employment. Its research covers the public, private and not-for-profit sectors; as well as industrial and employee relations, human resource management and organisational behaviour.

Under the direction of Associate Professor Helen De Cieri, ACREW is engaged in research in: HR, workplace privacy and surveillance, workplace bullying, trade union issues, career management, work-life balance, organisational change, performance management, global mobility management and expatriate management.
