Australian national volleyball championships

Monash University is hosting a national volleyball competition this month featuring 11 elite squads from Victoria, Queensland and Western Australia; the first game will be in Newborough this Sunday.

The Australian Volleyball League competition will include a series of matches at Monash University's Clayton campus as well as a game hosted by the Moe and Newborough Sports Centre in the Latrobe Valley.

The Monash University team will test its skills against other elite teams from across the country. Finals will be held in December and televised on SBS.

Ms Nikki Miller from Monash Sport said the competition would provide an outlet for the future Olympians.

Date: Sunday, 14 November
Venue: Moe and Newborough Sports Centre, Old Sale Road , Newborough.

Date: Friday, 19 November
Venue: Monash University Sports and Recreation Centre, Building 1 Clayton campus.
Game: Monash vs Western Australia ( 6.30pm )

Date: Saturday, 20 November
Venue: Monash University Sports and Recreation Centre, Building 1 Clayton campus.
Game: Melbourne Falcons vs Western Australia ( 1pm )
Melbourne University vs Western Australia ( 6.30pm )

Date: Saturday, 27 November
Venue: Monash University Sports and Recreation Centre, Building 1 Clayton Campus
