Students can learn more about studying at Monash University's Peninsula campus when Monash opens its doors on Saturday 5 August.
Faculties represented at the Peninsula campus include Business and Economics; Education; and Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
Students interested in studying business and economics will be able to speak to staff about the new Bachelor of Psychology and Business being offered for the first time in 2007. Visitors will also be able to hear high profile industry speakers tell how they became successful.
Those interested in education will find out how slime is made, what it does and why we can't live without it. And they will be able to take part in an interactive activity to discover what underlies maths teaching and how to help children become numerate.
Ambulance paramedics will provide visitors with an inside-look at the MICA truck and demonstrate how some of the equipment is used. They will also simulate a patient with chest pain followed by cardiac arrest using Sim Man - a patient simulator capable of providing real time, interactive clinical training and assessment for ambulance officers and paramedics.
