26 July 2006
Having spent 12 months leading a team of scientists in the icy wilds of Antarctica, Rachael Robertson has many fascinating stories to tell.
In 2005, Ms Robertson led the 58th Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition at Davis Station, and will share her experiences at the Victorian College of Pharmacy this week, in a presentation titled Extreme Leadership at the End of the Earth.
Ms Robertson will address the College's annual student leaders function that gives students, teachers, staff, donors and industry leaders the chance to meet and exchange ideas.
Ms Robertson will recount her experience in dealing with everything from plane crashes to disputes over bacon supplies, and share her views on what it takes to be a good leader -- such as the ability to perform under pressure, to expect the unexpected and have a good laugh when necessary.
