Australia's first pharmacy school will celebrate 125 years of education on Tuesday 6 June with a plaque unveiling at one of its earliest sites - in Swanston Street, Melbourne.
The Victorian College of Pharmacy, now a faculty of Monash University, was established in 1881 by the Pharmaceutical Society of Victoria. It moved to 360 Swanston Street, now a part of RMIT University, in 1884 and to its current location in Parkville in 1960.
More than 90 people will attend the unveiling, including many of thecollege's graduates, the national president of the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia, Mr Brian Grogan; the chairman of Pharmaceutical Defence Ltd, Mr John Coppock; and Mr John Jackson, President of the Pharmaceutical Society (Victorian branch).
