Caulfield campus redevelopment: information sessions

11 May 2006

Monash University's Caulfield campus is holding a community information forum on Friday 19 May to explain the proposed redevelopment of the campus and the adjacent. Caulfield Plaza retail precinct.

The forum, which will be held over two identical sessions, will be jointly hosted by the university and the proposed developer, Equiset, and will include an address by the State Government's Priority Development Panel.

The planned redevelopment at the western end of the university campus will include:

  • New education, office and student accommodation buildings.
  • Redevelopment of Caulfield Plaza and associated carparking.
  • New retail and public open spaces and upgrading of the Campus Green.
  • Upgrades to connections between Caulfield Station, the university campus, Dandenong Road and Derby Road.

Proposals are also being put forward to improve public transport, which may require removal of some on-street parking, and some changes to traffic movements in the local road network.

The Monash University/Equiset community information session will include a presentation of the development concepts and provide people with an opportunity to view plans and ask questions of the project team, the Glen Eira Council or the Priority Development Panel.
