Monash University's Masters of Business Administration (MBA) has received the top rating in the Australian Financial Review BOSS Magazine's MBA rankings for 2005.
Monash's MBA was classed in the top band, of a possible four bands, with the Melbourne Business School, the University of Queensland, the Australian Graduate School of Management and the Queensland University of Technology.
Twenty schools were surveyed in this year's analysis -- which included an online survey of alumni satisfaction and career progression as well as data collected from the schools.
Although enrolments at 12 of the schools dropped between 2003 and 2005 -- a trend being experienced in business schools around the world - Monash enrolments jumped by extra 17 per cent.
Of all schools ranked in the top band, Monash had the highest take-up rate of offers made to students.
Monash, along with the University of Queensland, had the highest percentage of qualified academic staff, with 95 per cent of full-time and part-time teachers possessing a PhD.
MBA Director, Associate Professor Peter Reed said alumni continued to rate Monash's MBA program number one.
"Our emphasis on leadership and professional development ensures we remain an industry leader," Associate Professor Reed said.
