Are you a murderer? Insight into genocide

Is there a gene that drives individuals to kill innocent people or are murderers simply victims of circumstance? Does war transform ordinary people into perpetrators of extreme violence?

Genocide expert, Associate Professor Mark Baker from Monash University, will explore the attributes that lead people to commit mass murder in this Monash University Research Month lecture.

Associate Professor Baker will discuss his research into the experience of victims of the Holocaust and consider how research has treated the subject of genocide by comparing perpetrator, bystander and victim.
