G-20 explained at Monash

The Lowy Institute for International Policy and the Monash Faculty of Business and Economics will hold a seminar about the upcoming G-20 Summit of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors on Monday 9 October.

This year's G-20 meeting, to be held in Melbourne on 18-19 November, will be one of the most important international economics meetings ever hosted by Australia.

The Monash-hosted seminar will discuss the importance of the G-20 in today's global economy and what the G-20 means for Australia and for Melbourne.

The event will feature a presentation by Dr Martin Parkinson, Executive Director of the Maroeconomic Group of the Federal Department of Treasury and Finance, followed by a panel discussion with Mr Mark Thirlwell, Director of the Lowy Institute and Mr Alan Wood, Economics Editor of The Australian newspaper.

The panel will be moderated by Dr Nick Bisley, Director of the Graduate Program in Diplomacy and Trade, Faculty of Business and Economics, Monash University.
