Unicycle tour videoDescription: Monash University Logo Description: Sid Rajan riding unicycle Title: Karen Sutherland Reporting Karen Sutherland: No breaks, no gears and getting on a unicycle is a feat in itself but Monash honours student Sid Rajan feels very much at home on the one wheeler. The education student is writing his thesis on the experience of long distance cycling, and as part of his research will ride from Perth to Sydney on a unicycle. Title: Sid Rajan. Unicyclist. Sid Rajan: “I love the way a unicycle feels. You’re flying because you have your hands free but that doesn’t explain why I want to ride across Australia. That’s just something that I can’t explain, it’s just something I really have to do and it’s almost an obsession” Description: Sid Rajan riding unicycle. Karen Sutherland: Sid learned how to ride a unicycle in 2004 and has since played unicycle hockey for Singapore, set a number of distance records, and completed off-road rides and tours in nine countries, including Vietnam, India and Pakistan. Sid Rajan: “I have been actually training to see how much food I need to eat, how much water I need to drink and I’ve been making notes on every aspect of this ride. I think I’m fairly prepared but I will only know once I start”. Description: Sid Rajan riding unicycle. Karen Sutherland: Stage one begins on June the 1st and will see Sid cover 3977 kilometres from Perth to Adelaide. And when he finally finishes he will be the first person to unicycle across Australia…. and probably the last. Caption: www.3oceansunicycletour.com Description: Sid Rajan riding unicycle.
