Weird science at Monash Community Family Co-op

23 August 2006

Tim and Jay made slime last week to celebrate National Science Week.

The kinder group at Monash Community Family Cooperative were fascinated by the process of making slime, in honour of Science Week last week.

Dr Andrea Robinson from Monash's School of Chemistry held a mini-chemistry class with the eager four-year-olds, who donned lab coats and goggles to make their own slime in a rainbow of colours.

Preschool teacher Ms Leanne Cooper said the class was an educational and fun way for the children to explore maths and sciences.

"We are lucky to have parents and staff contributing to classes in languages and biology as well as in chemistry," she said.
